I have made a nice start to the New Year with regards to my sewing.
I’ve started on my youngest Daughters quilt…
I cut a total of x72, 4 & 1/2 inch half square triangles (what a mouth full!). I haven’t done Half Square Triangles before. It will be interesting to see just how accurate they are when I come to sew them all together!
I’ve had a play with the layout…
… but I haven’t settled on anything yet.
This afternoon I whipped up a patchwork cushion (like you do!) for a friend at work who’s poorly…
I thought it might make her smile (in a good way!), I’ll let you know!! It is the same fabric squares that I have used before but in a slightly different layout and size.
I am going to make the Wall Hanging. I wanted to start with something small so that I stood a chance of keeping up! I don’t want to feel pressurised and end up not enjoying it. I’ve chosen my fabrics from Emma’s Fabric Studio.
These three main colours with a white background and red binding and backing.
I struggled with the sizes as Happy Quilting is an American blog and they seem to measure their fabric in yards instead of metres or fat quarters! Anyway I’ve ordered it all now so lets hope I’ll have enough!
I spent the last of my Christmas money, that didn’t last long! I brought a Quilt Kit from The Quilt Room.
It is called the “Return To Sender” Quilt. The kit comes with all of the fabric to make the quilt top and binding, as well as the instructions (I’ll need those!).
So plenty to keep me busy.
What are you working on? Do share…
